Desiree is a striking red-skinned main crop potato originally bred in the Netherlands. It is a favourite with allotment growers due to its resistance to drought. It is a versatile, fairly waxy variety which is firm and holds its shape and is useful for all methods of cooking. Desiree is also excellent as a baking potato.
